i believe that intake tube it self is aluminum, im curious to see if that you monitored you intake air temp sensor if the temperatures would be any higher compared to the OEM unit

I really would not worry about water entering the combustion chamber because it would be such a small amount of water. However my experience being and Automotive Tech is that bolt on cold air intakes like you are talking about don't really work. The only way they would work is if you reprogrammed the Power Train Control Module and modified the Air and Fuel ratios. I am sorry to say though but this is way too exspensive and advance for what you are looking for.

Hey man thats really cool I actually want to vacuum form an air intake tube for a truck,(the tube that runs from the throttle body to the air box) I'm going to cut the tube in 2 and vacuum form each half and then weld the plastic together. The question i have is what would be the best material to use under the hood of a car, where the temperature is very high? and how can i cut the material very finely to ensure a proper seal when i put the 2 halfs together?
