google analytics is a web stat program which used by webmasters. Reason why you see it at bottom of the browser because 90% websites use this to monitor stats. You can't do anything about it since its installed in site not in your PC.

Great reviews Urgo. I used to use Woopra, very solid, but don't need all the real-time stats. Currently use Clicky which IMO, knocks the crap out of Google Analytics.

Many webmasters are utilizing Google Analytics to statistically analyze visitor traffic to their websites. There is no "profiling" you need to be concerned with. It simply gives us information about what pages were visited, how long visitors were on the site, etc. Go here for more information

Google analytics is a part of google which can be used to monitor site access. Sometimes it performs poorly, and sounds like that's happening to you.

You can wait a while to see if it improves, or have your browser block that site, so it won't load that content when you go to that page.

Google Analytics (formerly called "Urchin") is a free program that helps site owners keep track of their traffic. The site owner has to add a few lines of script to their pages in order for Google Analytics to track things, and that's what you're seeing when you browse: your browser requests a page, and within that page is the call to Google's server.

i don't believe that google analytics is not used for search result ranking. cause it's quite illogical – u have on analytics probably the most valuable data of the quality of all pages in the site and u don't use it?

David, I agree that Google Analytics provides a wealth of information and the price is right. However…..if you are purchasing traffic from Google AdWords, are you not giving the traffic seller an intimate look at your business metrics, which could enable them to “adjust” the price you pay for traffic? Would you not suggest that some information, i.e. value of leads, be comprised of dummy numbers so as to avoid this risk?

Look at the ONLY browser maker not to adopt the “do not track” setting on their browser. Yep, it's Google . Also, ever hear of “Google Analytics”? What about stealing data from computers while they drive around mapping for Google Maps? Google = Evil. Adopt now and beat the rush.
